AHS is seeking an experienced Healthcare Recruiter with a progressively successful background in one or more of the following: nursing/clinical, allied health, pharmacy, travel nursing and/or non-clinical recruiting.
Candidates with experience in more than one (or ultimately all) of the aforementioned verticals highly preferred.

This is a virtual recruiter role for a full-life cycle opportunity with responsibilities including identifying, sourcing, screening, interviewing (initially phone & subsequently in-person, or Skype/GoToMeeting/Google Plus/, etc), credentialing, scheduling and closing candidates while also ensuring a high-quality and positive candidate experience.

You will own the recruiting cycle from end to end, spanning all areas of sourcing to onboarding.

You will partner with hiring managers (as well as several VMS companies) by providing guidance, expertise, and talent advising to hire the best talent for AHS's continually growing base of contracted hospitals and numerous, other healthcare facilities. 

Must be highly proficient in networking, building & sustaining positive/productive relationships and exemplary experience with both active and passive candidate sourcing.

Will be required to manage the recruitment and selection process for assigned positions (recruiters with superb experience in the healthcare industry will be given the leeway to pick your preferred job REQs, have the ability to modify margins, & other benefits) to include the development and implementation of recruitment plans, recruitment advertising programs, recruitment metrics, and recruitment related activities and initiatives.

Will ensure compliance with hospital policies, corporate requirements, and relevant employment laws.

AHS contracts with hundreds of local and nationwide hospitals, rehab companies, sub-acute, skilled nursing facilities, correctional facilities, behavioral health facilities, clinics, private practices and more to refer top candidates to our large, nationwide client base.

Position Description:

The positions we recruit for are nursing/clinical, allied health, pharmacy, travel nursing, contract & direct hire opportunities.
Recruiting Consultants service local and national companies and candidates.
We are looking for professionals who have a passion for recruiting.

Must be able, willing, and highly capable in building their niche.

Virtual – 40(+) hours a week, working from home or remote office. Must be able to take on-call staffing responsibilities as necessary (rotating)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Recruit & place exceptional healthcare and other industry candidates with companies locally and nationally, and establish/maintain superior relationships with other recruiters within AHS, AHS management, clients, candidates, and current employees.
Attend healthcare related job fairs and trade shows
Cultivate and maintain candidate and client databases
Ensure that all candidates and hiring officials are treated in a professional manner, and that all business is conducted with integrity and fairness
Develop and implement sourcing and outreach strategies to maximize the active applicant pool
Establish relationships with active and passive candidates
Strong experience developing and executing proactive sourcing strategies
Be internet savvy, with experience with online sourcing techniques
Strong achievement drive, resilience, flexibility, and commitment to achieving goals
Participate in the development of effective recruitment advertising strategies/campaigns to attract top talent for our local and nationwide clients
Highly proficient in utilizing social media to further develop relationships and to attract talent and clients
Establish relationships with college/university career service centers and healthcare departments
Attend networking events
Availability to travel to candidate and client meetings when necessary
Ability to be highly reliable, and available, at any given time during the week, for our clients, candidates, employees, and periodic meetings (in-person and/or online / phone) with AHS management & colleagues


Generous commission and bonus package. Compensation is directly linked to results. Unlimited and uncapped earnings; averaging higher than 90% of competing healthcare recruitment/staffing companies' compensation

AHS knows that intelligent HC Recruiters, at some point in their career, have figured out how disheartening it is to acknowledge that they've signed a contract to literally give their employer 88%-95% of the exorbitant revenue they are breaking their backs to bring into the company.
Additionally, if that's not disconcerting enough, they've accepted a diminutive salary of $40-$50K, which is supposed to somehow compensate for their whopping 6% in commissions. Definitely not a pleasant feeling.
AHS's staff knows this first hand (from past experiences); therefore to incentivize & maximize productivity in each of its HC Recruiters, we've implemented an extremely aggressive 20% commission on all per diem, contract, travel and direct hire placements, with no caps, no unrealistic, tiered metrics, no decrease in commission subsequent to your employee working more than 1, 2, 3 + years; never, no ceiling for upward mobility & no obstacles in your path to prohibit you from earning a very comfortable living (most of our recruiters earn between $80K to $120K, their first year - our top recruiter earns $240K/yr) & significantly more each year thereafter.
How can they make so much?
Again, if you possess many/all of the aforementioned characteristics, you can easily attain $100K+ in just your first year. Here's how: At 20% commission, our HC Recruiter receives (on average) $125/wk for every single healthcare professional they place (an AHS manager can discuss our Perm Placement commissions, but they are equally lucrative), and with several hundred job orders at your fingertips (sometimes several hundred a day) you are equipped with the tools and resources to earn an extremely comfortable living.
For example, if after 6 weeks you have only 10 employees working f/t for you, at $500/mo each, you're already earning $5K/mo. If you meet your goals, you'll hire & place 2-4 nurses & other medical professionals, per week. The math is simple & the goals are certainly attainable for almost any experienced and motivated HC Recruiter; obviously once you start to reach 20, 30, 40+ employees working for you, you will be receiving a substantial monthly/annual income.  
As an illustration (while it's certainly not an AHS mandated policy to reach this level of employees, in such a short period of time), we've had recruiters hire and place over 30 f/t, contract employees in a 90 day window - that's $15K/mo after just 3 months - and just for the sake of this scenario (which the following has certainly never happened) let's just say this recruiter miraculously go into complete arrested development, and somehow, after being extremely productive in their first 90 days, never hires/works another employee, while simply retaining their initial 30 employees - they would still be making $180,000/yr.
Using these examples/stats, hopefully this explains how our recruitment staff makes considerably more than traditional healthcare recruiters in our industry.


Minimum BS/MS degree or strong background and interest in clinical healthcare recruiting and staffing desired
Proven success in Clinical Healthcare recruiting and staffing REQUIRED
MS Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) ATS (Applicant Tracking System), or database experience helpful
Successful recruiters typically work 40 hrs a week or more. Additionally being available at off hours to make connections with those that work a traditional schedule also may be necessary
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision


Must have experience with applicant tracking systems and/or database management
Must have significant experience with active and passive candidate sourcing
Demonstrated leadership capacity and coordination skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Intermediate competency with Applicant Tracking Systems, Excel and Word such as proficiency with managing data, pulling data reports, custom formatting spreadsheets, consolidated spreadsheets, data filtering, manage data in lists, work with custom styles, create customized graphic elements, control text flow, automate common tasks, automate document creation, perform mail merges
Good interpersonal skills
Organized and detailed oriented
Effective communications skills, both verbal and written
Sensitivity in handling confidential information
Demonstrated ability to develop recruitment plans for high volume recruitments and difficult to fill positions.
Demonstrated ability to manage and prepare recruitment budgets

Primary job is to receive and fill prescription requests for patients. These prescription requests can come from hospitals, physicians, nurses or directly from the patient. Their work will be overseen by a licensed pharmacist.

The preparation of a prescription requires several tasks. The duties carried out by pharmacy technicians can include:

Retrieving prescription orders
Counting, pouring, measuring and weighing tablets and medications
mixing medications
Selecting the proper prescription container
Creating prescription labels

After the prescription is filled, the pharmacy tech prices and files it. A licensed pharmacist then checks the completed prescription before it is given to the patient.

Other Pharmacy Tech Responsibilities

The pharmacy tech’s job also extends to the daily operation of the pharmacy itself, including interactions with hospitals and patients. Some other, non-medication-related duties include:

Preparing insurance claim forms
Maintaining patient profiles
Completing cash register transactions
Answering phones
Taking inventory of over-the-counter medications
Being aware of the latest medicines and their availability
